zzHuckleberry the Dog needs a home
zzHuckleberry was adopted at a San Antonio shelter. His birthday is 3/29/2015 and he weighs 65 lbs. zzHuckleberry is well trained, groomed, and has been a healthy, active dog. zzHuckleberry enjoys going outside for walks and is very affectionate towards his owners and friends. He absolutely loves to cuddle on the couch while watching TV. Trainers we have worked with have often described zzHuckleberry as very sensitive to his surroundings and having a shy demeanor. Huck does lack confidence around meeting new people and new animals. This has been incredibly difficult for us living in a city and being surrounded by new people and animals. We have worked with Huck for the past 2 years to improve his leash reactivity and confidence without much success. It has become clear to us that his behavior is not compatible with urban environments.
We only recommend experienced owners/fosters with homes with a yard that are not in urban environments. Huck will warm up to other dogs and people, but it is about a 1 hour process. He has had very limited exposure to children and cats. He enjoys playing fetch, hide & seek, and his rubber chew toys. He's very smart and knows the commands "sit, stay, shake, high five, come, place.
